Highwood Haus Throwback Reveal
Revealing Highwood Haus to the blog! This is one of our favorite projects to date. This Scheme project is located in the San Francisco bay area in a home designed by famed architect, Joseph L. Eichler. We transformed Jo and Jon Encarnacion’s space to showcase their family’s vibrant personalities while keeping the space functional for their everyday life.
We wanted to create a space truly unique to Jo and her family. We created this little reading nook in the corner of their living room to provide a place for laptop work and family hangouts.
We wanted to create an office for Jon that embodied him and that he would enjoy working in. We designed the room around the space-themed art prints that he was really excited about incorporating. This space has natural light pouring in. The light and bright atmosphere was a perfect contrast with dark more masculine elements.
Creating a gallery wall can be difficult. We wanted to connect the color palette and create a dynamic flow between pieces. We suggest opting for more structured pieces alongside art that is more free-flowing. It’s ok to blend styles and even incorporate unexpected colors. Art collections should have some personality that is all your own!
We incorporated this Keith Herring wall paper as a major statement piece in Jo’s office. It makes a great backdrop for the jungle of plants friends who hang out alongside her!
We loved the rich texture that this credenza brought into the couple’s master bedroom.
We kept the master bedroom calm and serene with a neutral palette creating an oasis. Personal touches like the celestial art make the space feel like home to the space-obsessed couple.
As an influencer, Jo needed a space to create content and also manage her business. This office is a perfect environment for both!
We loved creating this joyful home design for Jo and Jon and their daughters. We can’t wait to see them grow in it throughout the years!
