Mary Nielsen
Marketing & PR Manager
Master of Public Health (MPH), University of Arizona
Psychology (BS), University of Arizona
Hometown: Oak Forest, IL
Growing up in her mom’s South Side Chicago coffee shop, Mary witnessed how small businesses can bring people together and strengthen a community. This early experience instilled a lifelong passion for supporting small businesses, independent artists, and entrepreneurs.
Mary brings that passion to her work at Mackenzie Collier Interiors, where she actively seeks out opportunities to collaborate with local businesses, vendors, and artists, amplifying their impact while connecting clients with one-of-a-kind pieces and services.
Mary brings more than a decade of experience in project management and research, most notably leading the largest federally funded health science research program in Arizona’s history. Her work focused on engaging underrepresented communities in medical research, demonstrating her commitment to inclusivity and building bridges where they’re needed most. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was entrusted by the state of Arizona to establish some of the earliest testing programs for first responders.
At Mackenzie Collier Interiors, Mary’s empathetic nature, resourcefulness, and collaborative spirit play a key role in driving the studio’s success. Her ability to connect with people and her unwavering dedication to uplifting the community ensure that every project supports both client goals and the broader local ecosystem.
Outside of work, you’ll find Mary kayaking on Canyon Lake, exploring farmer’s markets, picking up fresh flowers, or out on a (very slow) walk with her senior dog, Tucker.
