Located in the Biltmore area of Phoenix, the inspiration for the project was to honor the client’s past, while creating a space for the future to unfold. The client just so happens to be our business owner, Mackenzie Collier. The color palette was designed to elicit mountain memories of adventures in the deep forest, alpine lakes and glacial streams. We opted for an extra deep army green sectional in a durable velvet fabric to gather friends and family comfortably. The retro bamboo, brass, and rattan coffee table nods to a 70’s global vibe that Mackenzie has loved for decades. Mackenzie wanted to create a gathering space for a group of dear friends to cook and eat together, so we added four leather counter stools along the island and a tulip table in the dining nook. We framed existing indie, folk, and rock concert posters and meaningful art to create this large-scale gallery wall that reflects the unique life experiences and interests of the person living there. The modern backdrop of black quartz countertops and crisp white walls would feel cold on their own, so we layered in a lot of natural materials and textures to soften the space. You’ll also see plants throughout the space, bringing nature inside.
