Our Pan Am Pilot’s Lounge project is a retro Mid-Century Modern bachelor pad designed for a single dad who is also a commercial airline pilot. To offer our pilot a welcoming arrival home, we designed a lively space full of bold color and rich texture. This 1960’s home retained all of its original architectural charm in recent renovations, so it was the perfect backdrop for playful mid-century inspired furnishings and decor. We incorporated an inky blue velvet sofa, fun rugs, and shelving to display the children’s art and books. Our client loves listening to records with his son, so we added a couple of vintage airliner chairs next to the record player along with a bench that provides a ton of record storage. It’s the perfect spot for a father-son hangout session. In the kitchen we created a vibrant dining area where they can gather around the table to sample the food they love to cook together.
